“We want him to be produced either dead or alive. We shall be holding demonstrations in Eldoret since that’s the only language the government understands,” said Duncan Sanchez, a neighbor to the missing medic.
When was Edward Terer abducted?
According to the medic’s younger brother, Augustine Limo, Terer was abducted on June 2, 2025, by people who had an armoured vehicle.
He was taken while at a clinic in Sambalat alongside two of his colleagues, who were later released. However, to date, his whereabouts remain unknown.
The family and friends are now calling on the Interior Cabinet Secretary, Kipchumba Murkomen, and the Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, to clear the air about their missing kin.
They expressed their worry about his safety, coming at a time when the country has witnessed a series of abductions linked to the government.
"Terer has worked for over 14 years in Sambalat, in Elgeyo Marakwet as a medic. He is a humble guy who doesn't even harm a fly,” said Edward Terer, his younger brother.
“We are worried as a family, and we demand answers from the government. They must give us a clear picture of what is happening to our brother,” he added.
Who abducted Edward Terer?
According to the family, one of the released colleagues who were with their missing kin had told them that although people who abducted them appeared to be civilians, the vehicle they were bundled in had police uniforms.

They said since Terer went missing, they have been subjected to emotional torture. The family members described Terer as a God-fearing man.
“We are issuing 24 hours for the government to give us the information on the whereabouts of our son. Our son is a medic, not a bandit,” said Willy Chesingil, the uncle.
“Let the government tell us what they know of his whereabouts. My brother, Mark Lomke, was also abducted after a few days, and we do not understand what could be happening,” added the missing medic’s wife, Tecla Yano.
