In a statement issued through his social media platforms, Thuranira hailed the sixteen out of eighteen members for upholding integrity and demonstrating that leadership must remain answerable to the people.
"I salute the unwavering courage and principled stand taken by the 16 Members of the County Assembly of Isiolo in upholding the people’s mandate,” Thuranira said.
“By voting to impeach the governor, you have sent a clear message that public office is not a platform for personal gain but a sacred trust to be honoured with integrity, transparency, and service,” he added.

Thuranira, known for championing youth empowerment in the region, said the MCAs' action proved that democratic institutions can still function effectively when leaders choose accountability over politics.
He commended them for resisting intimidation in the lead-up to the vote and urged other county assemblies across Kenya to emulate Isiolo’s example by exercising their oversight roles fearlessly.
“Your bold action demonstrates that our democratic institutions still work when representatives choose accountability over complacency. You have reminded every leader, from the county hall to the corridors of national power, that power is bestowed by the people and can be withdrawn when that trust is broken,” he stated.
The governor had been under fire for alleged mismanagement and failure to deliver essential services. The accusations levelled against him included gross misconduct, misuse of public funds, and violations of both the Constitution and various integrity laws.
With the County Assembly having approved the impeachment, the matter now heads to the Senate, where the governor’s fate will be decided.
