How much did trader lose in Nairobi protests?
The CS has been assessing the damage to property in Nairobi County and its environs and has met with the affected traders. A video of the visit depicted Murkomen speaking to a businesswoman affected by the chaos witnessed in many parts of the country.
“We lost everything. They stole machines, pressure cookers, thermos flasks, and blenders. Everything,” the woman said.
The woman then mentioned that she had KSh 2 million in stock and lost it all. Murkomen responded in disbelief at the huge losses incurred.
"They even injured my workers," the woman added.
She explained that the two workers also lost their phones.
"I also lost four CCTV cameras, and a TV screen."
Murkomen then asked whether the CCTV cameras had captured any footage before they were stolen.
"We will use that to catch all of them, no matter how long it takes."
The grateful businesswoman thanked Murkomen for his support, and he promised to be back, seemingly hinting at compensation.
Kenyans reacted in disbelief at the amount the woman had quoted, with some expressing doubt that the government would offer financial assistance.

In other news, singer Arrow Bwoy shared a health update following an assault by police officers during the protests in Nairobi.
He had joined rapper Khaligraph Jones and other demonstrators demanding better governance and justice for victims of state violence.
Despite trying to reason with officers, one of them was seen whipping him.
Arrow insinuated that he was left with injuries on his head, arm, and back. A video showed him being wheeled into a hospital, bandaged and in pain.
Arrow posted a clip with the soundtrack of his new song, calling for unity and an end to police brutality, while expressing gratitude for surviving the ordeal that claimed at least 11 lives.
