CCTV Cameras Capture Goons Setting Ablaze Nyandarua County Government Vehicles during Demos

Did goons burn down county government vehicles in Olkalou?
One of the regions that experienced chaotic demos was Nyandarua county, where goons were captured on CCTV footage setting county vehicles on fire.
The video, which was shared online, showed the rowdy youth approaching county vehicles that were parked at the Olkalou subcounty offices, and opening them before setting them on fire.
Other suspected goons were seen throwing stones at the vehicles in a bid to break the windows. They then accessed the vehicles through the windows and made away with the valuables that were inside.
The police were heard firing gunshots from afar, but that didn't bother the youth, who remained focused on their looting agenda.
Peaceful residents were heard claiming that the suspected goons were not from the area.
"These people are usually not from here. If that car explodes, those people are going to face the music," one resident was heard saying.
The incident in Olkalou was among many that happened in the country during the Gen Z protests.
In another video, the residents of Olkalou were captured in a video chasing away police officers. The security agents, overpowered by the angry crowd that charged at them, boarded their trucks and retreated.
The residents were seen carrying what appeared to be a human body as they threw stones at the police vehicles in the vicinity.

The video sparked reactions among Kenyans online, with some criticising the behaviour of the goons.

Did protesters set Kikuyu Law Courts on fire?
In a separate incident, tensions were experienced in Kikuyu constituency when a section of demonstrators set the Kikuyu Law Courts on fire.
They also ransacked the offices and left legal documents scattered across the premises. The arsonists reportedly targeted the registry offices where case files were completely burned down.

Protesters also stormed the Kikuyu subcounty offices before torching government vehicles, including tractors.
The police officers at the scene were captured running into the compound with water-filled buckets in an attempt to put out the fire.
This happened despite several warnings from the government about vandalising public property.
