The suspect, identified only as M.L., a renowned businessman, had reportedly been evading arrest for months.
Why was the businessman arrested?
In an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke, a senior police officer revealed that the breakthrough came when the suspect allegedly failed to pay rent for eight consecutive months at a family-owned property, where he ran a timber business.
"He had a case involving a certain family where he refused to pay a significant sum of money. While he eventually started making partial payments, the delays led to a report being filed against him. This complaint contributed to his arrest," the cop stated.
The officer added, 'He’s been elusive, but today we finally caught him.'
Which case was Jane Mugoh pursuing?
According to private detective Jane Mugoh, the man had several pending cases but had not been arrested due to his armed and reportedly dangerous nature.
Mugoh explained that she became involved after his arrest due to an unrelated matter she has been investigating, which eventually led to the suspect threatening six police officers.
"He secured a KSh 3.5 million loan from a Nairobi loan and credit facility using his Prado logbook. The loan was due in December last year. After reducing the balance to KSh 1.9 million, he stopped making payments. When officers attempted to repossess the vehicle, he drew a gun on them," she said.

The senior officer who confirmed the arrest stated that the suspect had been difficult to track down, as he operates in various towns.
This, according to them, made it challenging for authorities to apprehend him.
“He was spotted in Meru, Maua, and finally in Isiolo. Mugoh requested backup to investigate the vehicle’s location. Though he was not initially found, it was reported that he later threatened officers when he returned,” the officer said.
Threatened cop recounts incident
One of the officers who was threatened recalled the tense encounter.
"We searched for him in Isiolo, but he seemed to anticipate our movements. Later, when we tracked his wanted vehicle to an apartment, he showed up, greeted us, and then returned to his other car. He came out armed with a gun, cocked it to intimidate us, and then drove off in the wanted car—nearly running over us,” the officer revealed, adding that they were left shocked an in fear at the man's compound.
The suspect, who is believed to have three residences, has reportedly continued to issue threats even after being evicted from his original home in connection with a murder case.
Authorities are now processing the businessman, who is expected to face multiple charges.
"He has four offenses with OBs for each, yet he has never been arrested. In this case, where he threatened officers, justice must be served. Police lives also matter," Mugoh emphasised.
Man confronts police with machete amid protests
Meanwhile, a man who confronted police with a machete during Nakuru protests will face charges of incitement to violence and robbery.
The incident gained national attention after a viral video showed him advancing toward armed officers, symbolising public anger over police brutality.
A day later, reports surfaced that he had been abducted by unknown individuals amid growing unrest. He was later found critically injured in Thika and rushed to the hospital for treatment.
