Did Cancer Invetiments sponsor hashtag against Alai?

Alai's lawyer, Edward Oonge, had protested that the issue was spread on social media to his client’s detriment.

"Over the course of the weekend, my senior colleague and his client appeared in media, both social and mainstream, significantly discussing my client, Robert Alai, and this case, specifically, my lord, referring to my client," Oonge claimed.

However, lawyer Kinyanjui refuted the claims that his client had sponsored a hashtag on X (formerly Twitter) just days before the court session.

"I am not on any social media platform. I am not on Facebook. I am not on Twitter. I am not on TikTok. I would like that to go on record. I am not on Instagram. I am not on any other social media," the lawyer stated.
"If my learned friend has any hashtag or handle identifiable with me on social media, let him produce it by way of affidavit. I want to emphasise that I did not sponsor any hashtag or social media contribution,” he insisted.

The MCA termed the demand exaggerated and theatrical.

According to Alai, lawyer Omari had no moral ground to demand such an amount as compensation for being defamed.
