The Saba Saba Day protests left several Kenyans dead, including those who were involved in the protests and others who found themselves caught in the chaos.

Kangemi man dies while returning home from work

One of those people was a young man from Kangemi, identified as Elvis Musavi, who died after being shot during the chaos.

In a video shared by Citizen TV, one could see the lifeless body of Elvis in a body bag as his mother wailed, displaying the pain of losing a child.

Faith Indeche collapsed after seeing her son's body and explained to the media that her son had left work and was heading home.

She said he was not part of the protests, and she had urged him to return home early to avoid the fracas that she knew would follow.

"My firstborn son, we were with him in the morning. Now he's a corpse. He said he was going to work and urged him to return home early," she said.

Elvis Musavi's widow reveals a heart-wrenching fact

Elvis' widow was inconsolable as she collapsed to the floor, crying that her husband had been killed.

She could not handle the pain, noting that Elvis had left behind a six-month-old child, whom she would now have to take care of on her own.

It was clear that the young lady could not handle the pain and needed help from the hospital staff to sit up.

This was the sad state of a family, saying farewell to a son and husband in the morning with the hopes of seeing him later, only for him to end up dead.

Earlier pictures showed Elvis lying on the streets as protesters surrounded him and laid a flag over his motionless body.

What have the police said about the protests?

In other news, according to a report by the National Police Service on Monday, July 8, they confirmed that 11 people had died as a result of the Saba Saba protests.

The NPS also revealed that 52 of its police officers were injured, and 12 police vehicles were damaged amid the chaos.
