Her declaration has since seen some of Natembeya’s supporters branding her as a betrayer.
Responding to the critics, she noted that her support for the president should not be interpreted to mean betrayal.

Speaking at Kipsagam village in Saboti constituency, the deputy governor defended her decision, noting that it was within her constitutional right to hold a contrary opinion to that of the county boss.
"Just like any other Kenyan, I have my opinion, and I have heard some people say I have betrayed some people. My friends, that is not betrayal; I am merely exercising my constitutional right," Kapkory said.
She clarified that her decision to join Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and other Kenya Kwanza leaders at an empowerment programme in the county on Friday, July 11, was based on her right to associate with anyone.
Natembeya has been a fierce critic of the Kenya Kwanza administration, and his deputy’s presence at the event had raised eyebrows even before she declared her support for the government.
"Whenever a leader of the calibre of the deputy president comes around, it is my right to go listen to what the government has in place for us. We could be young in politics, but we know that our opinion counts," she stated.
The DG, who has been largely inconspicuous in public events for a period of over six months, further appealed to the Trans Nzoia locals to carefully vet all the aspirants for all the elective seats.
She also urged parents to talk to their sons and daughters, especially the Gen Zs, to allow Ruto to deliver on his campaign promises.

On his part, former Trans Nzoia chief officer, John Meng'wa, urged Gen Zs to register as voters if they want to bring leadership change in the country.
"Kenya is a democratic country, and the only way to ascend to power is through elections. Those who are not satisfied with President Ruto should register as voters so that they can vote against him in the 2027 elections," Meng'wa stated.
Similar sentiments were echoed by Kinyoro ward MCA, Andrew Kibet Kipekee, who accused the opposition of trying to overthrow the government using the Gen Zs.
Natembeya's wife speaks about EACC raid
Previously, TUKO.co.ke reported that Natembeya's wife, Lilian, had narrated how detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) ransacked their house during the controversial raid.
She said the raid was conducted at a time when Natembeya was not at the house.
The Trans Nzoia first lady claimed officers involved in the exercise acted unprofessionally.
