However, the search ended in tragedy when his lifeless body was discovered in the canals near the Obina irrigation scheme, close to his farm.

Authorities said the body bore visible wounds, raising suspicions that Okewe may have been attacked before his death.

The body was moved to the Othoo Funeral Home for autopsy and further forensic examination.

Law enforcement officers launched investigations into the suspected murder, although no arrests have been made so far. The family has not issued a public statement.

The incident adds to a worrying trend of mysterious deaths reported in various parts of the country in the past weeks, with numerous cases remaining unresolved.

These murder cases are fueled by financial stress, domestic violence, poor conflict resolution, and untreated mental health issues.

Economic hardship strains relationships, while jealousy and infidelity escalate tensions.

Many individuals lack coping skills, and without proper mental health support, disputes often turn violent, resulting in tragic outcomes.

Meanwhile, in Kirinyaga, a 43-year-old woman, Rose Njeri, was allegedly killed by her husband, Patrick Manegene, inside their unfinished house before he fled the scene.

The incident came to light after Manegene reportedly visited Njeri’s aunt, Lydia Wakaria, and led her to the location of the body.

Wakaria, shocked by the discovery, alerted the village elder, who then involved the authorities.

Police confirmed that Njeri had sustained injuries to her right leg and neck. Residents claimed the couple often had disputes, with frequent fights reported at night.
