TV 47 reports that the accident, which occurred at midnight on Sunday, July 26, left over 10 passengers seriously injured.

The injured have been rushed to Amref Kibwezi Hospital and Makindu Hospital, where they are receiving treatment.

The accident occurred near the Kinyambu area, along the busy Nairobi-Mombasa highway in Makueni county.

According to a police report, the accident happened around midnight and was allegedly caused by a disruption from a tuk-tuk.

How did the Makueni bus accident occur?

Preliminary investigations indicate the bus belonging to the Dreamliner Company, which was travelling from Nairobi toward Mombasa, hit the tuk-tuk.

Rescue operations are ongoing at the scene, and traffic congestion continues to be reported in the area.

A heartbreaking video emerged online showing the moment the rescue team pulled passengers trapped inside the bus.

Authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution as investigations into the cause of the accident continue.

In other sad news, a terrible road accident occurred along the busy Webuye-Bungoma Highway on Sunday, July 20.

One person died on the spot near Bukembe Market following the accident involving multiple vehicles.

According to the police report, the early morning accident happened after a head-on collision between a small private vehicle and a bread delivery truck at Roja Village Resort.

Eyewitnesses revealed that the driver of the small car died on the spot, while his female passenger was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

At the same spot, a Greenline bus travelling at high speed rammed into the already stationary truck.

Witnesses disclosed that the PSV bus, which had 65 passengers travelling from Nairobi to Mombasa, lost control and rolled several times.

Initial investigations indicated that the driver of the private car may have been under the influence.

Immediately after the accident, an alcoholic drink was found inside the wrecked vehicle, an indication that the driver might have been drunk.
