- Today, Kituku is the proud owner of a hospital that serves locals in Kangundo, Matungulu and many other areas within and beyond Machakos county

What began as a normal visit to his sick father turned into an inspiration to begin one of the best hospitals in Kangundo sub-county, born from pain and determination.
Why Machakos man invested in a hospital
Kituku told TUKO.co.ke in an exclusive interview that, after witnessing his father’s final days in a hospital with no gloves, no medicine, and patients detained over unpaid bills, he vowed to change the face of healthcare in the area.

“Patients were left unattended and neglected; there were no gloves, no saline, no IV. The hospital had no medicine; patients had to go to the pharmacy in the local town, buy medicine, and give it to the hospital. The hospital didn’t have food for inpatients. There was no water for flushing toilets and no backup electricity,” he recounted.
“The washing machine and dryer were broken. One night, there was a blackout, and I asked what would happen to patients, especially those who depended on their electrical life support system. The answer I got was sickening,” he added.
Kituku said he watched helplessly as other patients, including his father, suffered in silence.
Stricken by grief, he cleared several patients’ bills, bought food and medicine, paid for the generator’s repair, and bought a new washer and dryer to replace the broken one.
However, this was just the beginning. Despite having no medical background, he began to think deeply about the plight of the poor, especially students, mothers, and the elderly who could not afford to seek better treatment elsewhere.
“How many others are dying silently because they can’t access proper care or afford to go to Nairobi?” he asked.
After losing other family members to similar conditions and watching students from his school suffer due to delayed and poor treatment, Kituku knew something had to change.
When was Ngoo Sya Wendo Healthcare Clinic opened?
In June 2024, just over a year after his father’s passing, he purchased a property with nine rooms along the Kangundo-Tala Road. On December 15, the Ngoo Sya Wendo Healthcare Clinic officially opened its doors.

He stated that the facility serves thousands of locals in Kangundo, Matungulu, and even beyond Machakos county.
It is fully furnished with a pharmacy, dental care, X-ray, ultrasound, ortho trauma and minor surgery, 24/7 ambulance services, among other services.
“We are not profit-driven; we are helping God’s people, and that is why consultation is free and treatment is affordable. We prioritise the elderly and students,” he explained.
Kituku said that among the disadvantages he faced were resistance from public health officers and financial hurdles, but faith has been his compass.
Looking ahead, he envisions turning the clinic into a fully-fledged hospital with maternity wards, inpatient facilities, and more specialised care units, all with the dignity of the patient at the centre.
“The best way to honour those who have left us is to live in a way that honours their lives. That’s what this facility is, a tribute of love, born from pain, sustained by purpose,” he told TUKO.co.ke.
