How elderly Kakamega woman was conned
Musanga noted that moments after walking out of the bank with the money, she met three people, two of whom were ladies. The three said they were government officials working with the Ministry of Health and that they could help her register to get free medical services.
The three claimed they were part of an outreach meant to assist the elderly in society within the county.
“They had a car which they told me to enter so that I could be registered to get the free medical services,” Musanga told TUKO.co.ke.
However, the moment she was in the car, it drove off for a few metres from the bank before they took away the handbag, which had the money and her mobile phone.
According to the lady, one of the ladies in the car was in the bank at the time she was withdrawing the money.
They later ordered her to alight from the car before they drove away with the handbag, which also had her other documents.
“Those people took my handbag and told me to get out of their car. One of the ladies was in the bank where I withdrew the money," she said.
