Okanga noted that Kagure's life story and compassion for ordinary people make her the kind of leader the city needs.
In a video shared across his social media pages, Okanga praised Kagure’s humility and consistency, describing her as a self-made leader who never forgot her roots.
Why is Nuru Okanga supporting Agnes Kagure?
He said her rise from a troubled upbringing to a respected figure in Nairobi was proof of her resilience and commitment.
"I want to really thank Agnes Kagure. Because as you all know, when a leader is good, I always have to come out and say, so that I educate the masses being blackmailed by bad leaders," he said.
Okanga narrated how Kagure once struggled through a difficult childhood, eventually finding a sponsor in a Nairobi pastor who helped fund her education.
He said she later worked as a house help in affluent neighbourhoods and experienced life in the slums, making her well-versed with the hardships many Nairobians face.
"She already knows that the same problem she had while growing up is the same several people are encountering in the slums, and hence will solve them," he added.
Did Agnes Kagure support Bunge la Mwananchi?
Okanga also revealed that he had spent time with Kagure personally and was impressed by her vision and generosity.
He highlighted her support for the Bunge la Wananchi football team, where she reportedly provided full sponsorship, including kits, boots, transport and meals for the players during a recent trip to Dandora Stadium.

"She is a leader who values talents, because she understands there are several youths who may want to rise up but are being pressed by life challenges," Okanga said.
He further praised her for founding the Agnes Kagure Foundation, which he claimed supports numerous women, children and youth across Nairobi.
According to Okanga, the foundation provides sanitary pads, school fees and small business capital, all funded from her personal resources.
"If you go to her place, you could mistake it for a school. There are a lot of people there, they are eating and drinking for free. This is despite her not being elected anywhere," he noted.

Is Agnes Kagure fit to be Nairobi governor?
The political commentator urged Kenyans to elect leaders like Kagure, who use their means to uplift the community even without holding public office.
"If you are an elected leader squandering money meant to benefit the people, I pray that the money gets away from you and goes to Kagure, because she has a large family," he said.
Okanga further revealed that Kagure had pledged to support his own campaign for MCA in 2027 and also donate books for children he sponsors in his rural village.
He called on Nairobi residents to give Kagure their vote, expressing confidence in her ability to address the city's long-standing challenges with empathy and hands-on solutions.
Who else is backing Kagure’s 2027 Nairobi governor bid?
TUKO.co.ke previously reported that Kagure's candidacy already gained traction among key community leaders.
A section of the Kikuyu Council of Elders publicly endorsed her bid in September 2024.
The elders expressed dissatisfaction with Sakaja’s performance, particularly regarding small-scale traders and bursary allocations, and said Kagure would offer a more people-centred approach.
This endorsement from the influential group is expected to strengthen Kagure’s position as a serious contender.
