Embu OCS explains how Oswado died

Embu West Sub-County Police Commander Vincent Kitili gave details of the events that led to Oswado's fatal shooting.

The police stated that things took a dramatic turn at around 2 pm, Tuesday, after the police received information that two inmates had escaped from a prison van while they were being escorted to Embu Prison from court.

According to Kitili, Oswado and his counterpart even launched pepper spray at the officers in an attempt to blind them so they could escape.

It was at this moment that one officer jumped out of the vehicle to pursue the inmates who were trying to flee.

The officer reportedly issued several warnings to Oswado, asking him to stop, to no avail. Kitili stated that the chase led the officer to a construction site where Oswado, armed with a machete, attempted to confront him.
