How did Nairobi passengers take on a drunk driver?

A dramatic confrontation erupted on Mombasa Road after furious passengers stopped a matatu mid-journey upon discovering the driver was drunk.

The disturbing incident, captured in a now-viral video, highlights the growing concern over road safety in Kenya, where reckless driving continues to claim lives and put innocent commuters at risk.

In the footage recorded at night, visibly shaken passengers are seen forcing the matatu to stop at a nearby petrol station.

The driver, identified by passengers as operating a vehicle from the Eastern Line Travel fleet, appeared heavily intoxicated.

Stumbling and squinting, they forcefully walked him from his seat and left him standing at the petrol station's waiting bay.

As he stood outside the vehicle, a passenger taking the video went on a rant, identifying the matatu's registration number, KBB 070W, which he displayed in the video.
