Naivas Supermarket commemorated its 35th anniversary in a heartwarming manner by celebrating the day with 1600 children from the Mogra Children's Home in Kiambu.

The retail giant, with a vast network of more than 110 branches across the country, brought joy to the faces of the young ones by presenting a generous donation of KSh 2,585,300 to Hannah Wairimu, the founder of the children's home.

Why did Naivas visit children's home?

In an emotional address, Daniel Kimani, the visionary behind the homegrown supermarket, shared his decision to mark the significant milestone alongside the children from the Mogra Children's Home.

"So it's my time to celebrate 35 years with Naivas, and I decided on this day to celebrate with these kids. There is a saying that says; It's not what you take from this world. It is what you leave", he stated.

Kimani also urged suppliers and other industry stakeholders to continue supporting the children's home, emphasising the importance of collective efforts in nurturing and caring for the vulnerable children

"I invite all of our suppliers to this noble cause. Whereby we can take care of these children and let them feel at home. Imagine how you feel if you are not there and find that someone took your child to school," he stated.

Naivas responds to claims of selling expired foods

This comes weeks after Naivas Supermarket responded to claims that it was selling expired food products at its branches in Nairobi.

The retail store also affirmed that its Nairobi outlets would remain and fully comply with national and county health regulations.
