The family spokesman, Richard Kiptoo, said that Chesir was driving in his car from Nairobi to Eldoret to check on his ailing father, who is admitted at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH).
Kiptoo said that Chesir’s abductors, who were in two vehicles, trailed him from Nairobi until they reached Kaptagat Forest, where one of the cars overtook him.
“One of the vehicles that overtook him along the Eldoret-Eldama Ravine Road stopped abruptly in front of his car as the other vehicle, which was behind him, blocked him from behind,” he stated.
The abductors, who are said to have had firearms, emerged from their two vehicles and ordered Chesir to get out and lie on the ground.
“They then asked him to identify himself, and once he told them his name, they bundled him quickly in one of the vehicles and sped off at high speed,” he recounted.

What orders are Bethuel Chesir seeking from court?

Through their lawyer Stephen Ombego, the family claims that they have never had peace of mind since the forced disappearance of their kin, who was the sole breadwinner for his family.
“We are stressed and worried over the action of the police for denying us crucial information regarding the whereabouts of our son, Bethuel Chesir,” argued Kiptoo.
The family wondered why the police had not produced Chesir in court, six days after he was abducted, to answer to any charges in law. They noted that his continued detention was unlawful and inhumane.
