Frederick Mutiriri's Wife, 2 Children Involved in Accident in Kimende: "Waliingia Chini ya Lori"

Popular television journalist Frederick Muitiriri gave an account of how his wife, their two children and a househelp got into a near-fatal accident in Kimende while heading to Nakuru.

The news anchor took to his social media platforms on Wednesday, August 20, to detail how the accident occurred, attributing it to bad weather.
"Yesterday in the foggy, misty and extremely cold Kimende weather, my wife, kiddos and our help got into an accident just before Soko Mjinga on their way to Nakuru," Muitiri's statement read in part.

He stated that the car his family was in rammed into a lorry from behind along the busy highway.
Did Frederick Muitiriri's family survive the accident?
Fortunately, despite the impact of the crash, Muitiriri's family escaped the incident with only soft tissue injuries.
"Waliingia chini ya lori from behind. We truly thank God that no one was hurt except some soft tissue injuries on two kiddos, belts Zilisaidia, and of course, the natural trauma of such an ugly accident," Muitiriri said.
Upon getting the information, the TV sensation headed to the accident scene but experienced challenges due to the extremely bad weather.
"The weather was so bad that it took me almost two hours to get to where they were. You couldn’t see 10 meters ahead. It took us almost four hours to get the wrecked car to Kikuyu. Sisi, we are counting our blessings," he added.
Muitiriri expresses gratitude to God
He expressed his gratitude to God for protecting the lives of his family members.
Muitiriri cited the blessings that they got from their high school missions as the reason his family escaped the incident alive.
"We bought this cardudu for high school missions and we know the blessings that came with the missions have always kept everyone in it and the car itself safe. It could have been way worse, and we thank God! Selah!"
NTV's Silas Apollo dies in accident
This comes months after NTV journalist Silas Apollo was hit by a speeding motorcycle while crossing Kiambu Road.
The accident reportedly happened on Wednesday, April 9, and his family got to know of the news on Saturday, April 12.

This was after a concerned relative called Apollo, only for his phone to be picked up by a woman at the Kiambu Police Station.
The officer told the relative that Apollo had been involved in an accident and had, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries.
According to a statement issued by the police, Apollo passed away at the Kiambu Level 6 Hospital after he was transferred from St. Teresa.
