A woman had decided to get baptised, not knowing that one decision would lead to her untimely death.

According to a report by Capital FM, the woman died during her baptism session in the Indian Ocean, Kijipwa area.

Before the incident, the clergyman presiding over the baptism ceremony had assembled about 24 people at the event.

The man of the cloth said that it was when he immersed Loice in water that she began convulsing and experiencing breathing difficulties.

Upon noticing this, they moved the woman to the shore. Some pastors present began praying for her, probably because they thought her condition was spiritual.

They kept praying, not knowing that Loice was dying.

Eyewitnesses claimed that no first aid was administered to the woman.

Upon realising that her condition was not improving, the clergymen decided to rush Loice to a nearby hospital in Vipingo, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The body of the 27-year-old was moved to the morgue waiting for an autopsy to establish the exact cause of the young woman's death.

In a bid to get to the bottom of the case, the police visited the baptism scene and also interrogated the eyewitnesses at the scene.
