How was Antonellah Kakuko exposed?
It later emerged that Kendagor's wife, identified as Antonellah Kakuko, was among the people who were outed in an exposé for allegedly trying to scatter the highly anticipated protests.
The exposé was by The Standard, and it revealed messages in WhatsApp groups run by government bloggers and officials, UDA secretariat staff and parastatal chiefs have been planning how to inflitrate protests.
They were also planning to generate propaganda aimed at media houses and prominent individuals seen criticising the government.
The tactics include unleashing goons with clear instructions to snatch smartphones from protesters to prevent them from capturing images of the protests and police brutality.
What was Kendagor's message?
When the news reached the public, they started looking for the people who had been adversely mentioned and United Democratic Movement's (UDA) Anonellah Kakuko, Kendagor's ex-wife, was mentioned.
When people learnt that she was married to Kendagor, they started greeting him and hurling threats and insults at him.
"Good morning Kenya, I have tried as much as possible to maintain calm while Kenyans whom I don’t know how they got my number are sending me greetings in torrents. Good people, I am not Antonellah Kakuko, and I don’t share her interests," he said.
"I was married to her until the marriage hit rocks, lived separately for five years before we finally divorced in 2023. Whatever Antonellah posts is entirely on her and her political associates, " he added.
Kendagor also went ahead to reveal that the couple has an eight-year-old daughter and begged that she be kept out of the matter as well.
"On her behalf, I want to state that she bears no responsibility for what her mother does or says. Hizi salamu please ziendee wahusika. Maverick Aoko, naomba uniondoe kabisa kutoka kwenye mkeka uliochanika. Mimi sipashi viporo," he said.
What was Kakuko's response?
After the news broke out, Anonellah Kakuko came out to expressly deny the claims and said that she was laughing in a manner that pleased the Lord and banks.
"KTN News Kenya and their owners are about to make me a millionaire. Form ishajipa, hello 999 999 999 .99 million for defamation and putting my life in danger," she said.
"Standard Media Group see you in Court. Polite Reminder, State House and other protected areas are a no go zone. Occupy them at your risk and be a martyr to be celebrated and honoured by activists next year after they've pocketed millions of money from your sacrifices and deaths," she added.

Joy Mdivo denies claims of being gov't blogger
Bishop Masinde's daughter, Joy Mdivo, also took to X to defend herself after she was also mentioned by the Standard over ties to a WhatsApp group meant to sabotage protests.
She denied belonging to such a WhatsApp group, further threatening to take legal action against the newspaper.
"I belong to no such WhatsApp group, nor have I made any such utterances in public or in private. For @StandardKenya to insinuate that I am planning to kill Kenyans is as untrue as it is defamatory. My lawyers have their instructions," she said.
