Lynne Princess, speaking on her YouTube channel, said she was inspired to join the convent after observing the Daughters of the Sacred Heart, one of the Catholic nun congregations.
“What they did aligned perfectly with what I wanted to do as a person, and I loved how the sisters were so loving and prayerful. I initially attended a 'Come and See' programme for the Incarnate Sisters, but I preferred the former congregation,” she said.
After completing her high school education in 2012, she decided to attend the “Come and See” programme organised by the church.

She explained that sisters from the congregation even visited her home to inform her parents that they would care for her and support her journey into sisterhood.
Lynne said she successfully passed all the stages required to become a nun and reached the level of novitiate.
However, she now works as a nurse and lives her life as a Christian, a way from the convent, but still holds the teachings and love for God.
Why did Lynne Princess quit sisterhood?
Lynne revealed that although she loved the idea of becoming a nun, she had always aspired to become a nurse and believed she had the potential for it.
During her second year at the convent, while still a postulant, her father passed away, but she had stayed through to the novitiate phase.

She admitted that her parents were against her decision to join the sisterhood, and it took a lot of prayer and spiritual guidance.
“I spoke to Father Alex Kiduma, who was a deacon at the time, and he played a very crucial role in my life back them. I asked him to talk to my family to allow me join the convent."
Without giving the exact reason why she called it quits, Lynne revealed that she had a boyfriend before joining the convent.
"I was not a virgin when I joined. I had a love life and when I decided to join the convent, my ex-boyfriend also joined the seminary to become a priest and when I left the convent years later, he also left the seminary," she stated.
Lynne also shared photos of herself while in the convent, dressed in the sister’s habit, alongside current photos of her as a nurse and congregant.

Speaking exclusively to TUKO.co.ke, spiritual counsellor, Esther Kamande, said that decisions like Lynne Princess’s departure from sisterhood are deeply spiritual, emotional, and often misunderstood by society.
She explained that while many young women join religious life with genuine faith and conviction, it’s not uncommon for them to later discern a different path that aligns more with their individual gifts and purpose.
“Religious formation is a period of deep introspection. Many discover that their true calling lies elsewhere, in professions like teaching, nursing, or counselling, where they can still live out their faith in service. Leaving the convent does not mean leaving God. For many, it’s a redefinition of how they are called to serve,” Kamande TUKO.co.ke.
