What happened at Kenyan burial?
Three stood on each side of the grave, carefully lowering the coffin of the deceased.
One of them could be heard confirming whether the casket had been placed correctly. Moments later, however, one of the lowering straps on his side snapped.
The coffin dropped heavily into the grave, and one pallbearer fell in after it, landing head-first on top of the casket.
He then sat up on the coffin, holding onto the lowering device bars as his colleagues and mourners rushed to help.
They pulled him out by the hands while the master of ceremonies attempted to calm the crowd and explain the incident.
“Sorry, very sorry. This is a small accident. Sorry, my brother. Seems the lowering strap wasn’t tied properly on his side or it stretched too much. This is just bad luck,” he explained.
