Bundi gained attention online when she appealed to well-wishers for financial support to clear her high school fee balance.

She required KSh 19,300 in order to obtain her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate, which was mandatory to apply for a Teachers Service Commission (TSC) number.

Hailing from a humble background, she survived on bursaries and eventually benefitted from government student loans through the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).

How did Sharon Bundi get her KCSE certificate?

The young lady told TUKO.co.ke that she managed to obtain her KCSE certificate without paying even a dime, and she proceeded to apply for her TSC number.

Upon receiving the TSC number a few weeks later, she applied to work at an international school she had long been eyeing.

“People laughed at me when I posted a video in my graduation gown at church, praising God for the degree I earned. They said I wouldn’t get a job anytime soon, but I kept praying and believing,” she said.

Where did MKU graduate get a job?

Bundi said she received a call for an interview at Cambridge International School, her dream employer.

“I was told that I got the job. All this has happened just a few months after I graduated, and I already have a job. I am so happy, and I give all credit to God,” she said.

Bundi shared that she received her employment letter in July and started working in August at the Nairobi-based international school.

She is now a teacher of mathematics and business studies.

She urged graduates and fellow youth to believe in God and prioritise prayer in pursuing their goals.

“I didn’t have a godfather or any connections. I told God about my needs and worries. I promised Him that I would share my testimony once my prayers were answered — and here I am,” she said.

She later shared a video updating her followers and critics to encourage them that everything is possible and all dreams are valid.
