Grade 3 Pupils Plead with Teacher on Practice to Return Next Term in Heartfelt Letters

A young Kenyan teacher has shared touching letters written by her Grade Three pupils, pleading with her not to leave them.

Mwango Sauda, in a TikTok video, noted that she had just completed her teaching practice and informed her learners that she would not return when schools reopened.
However, their emotional response to her farewell moved her deeply, as many begged her to stay.
“I told my pupils that I am done with teaching practice, and they decided to question me. I had mixed feelings because I had created a strong bond with them,” she captioned the clip.

What did Grade 3 learners tell their teacher?
Some of the letters had pupils thanking her for being a wonderful teacher, with many claiming she was their favourite.
“My dear teacher, thank you for everything and may grace and mercy be upon you. Thank you for coming to Kings International Academy,” one pupil wrote.
“You are the best teacher. You do not beat us; you allow us to play silent games and let us do anything. I hope you have a great day,” another added.
Others questioned why Mwango was leaving them and where she was going, noting that they would miss her a lot.
“Are you going to another school and leaving us for them? You posted us on TikTok, now you want to go and post another school. Do not leave,” wrote one pupil, who also drew sad faces.
Some pupils drew pictures of hearts to express their love for their teacher, while others kept asking whether Mwango was moving to a different country and if it was for her family.

Why did parents report teacher to police?
In other news, TUKO.co.ke reported that a teacher took to social media to lament after two parents reported him to the police.
Teacher Brian noted that, in addition to being summoned by the police, his salary was halved following a complaint from the parents.
He explained that he was castigated for giving two pupils two strokes of the cane each after he found them fighting.
The young man vowed never to punish any pupil again, even if he found them making mistakes, citing a lack of appreciation from some parents.
