How much has Stacey Anyango raised?

Following the clip shared in late July, the mother of one received a few calls from people who had seen her emotional appeal.

However, the response was not enough, and she has yet to raise the full amount. She had only managed to raise KSh 500.

The 26-year-old told TUKO.co.ke that her landlord gave her an extra day to raise the amount, adding that she is terrified she would be evicted.

“I have until today, August 6 evening, someone promised to call me by 3 pm for a job but I don’t know if it will be enough. I wish I could call God and tell Him I need this amount of money. I’m a quarter way through raising it, and I don’t know what to do. But I’m hopeful that one day, all these problems will end,” she said.

Anyango also shared her dream of starting a small business and revealed she has already identified a location.

“I want to sell samosas and bhajia to complement my laundry business so I can at least earn something even on days I don’t get cleaning clients,” she said.

The young woman revealed she bears heavy responsibilities as both a single mother and an elder sister.

“I don’t have any connections to get work just prayers, hope, and grace. I’ve slept outside many times, my son hasn’t been to school the whole term, and my sister is unwell. I’m drained, but I cannot give up,” she shared.

She appealed to kind-hearted Kenyans to support her with capital to start her business or call her for menial jobs, so she can raise the rent money.

To support Anyango, contributions can be sent via M-Pesa to 0798795113.

In other news, TUKO.co.ke reported that Lilian Ondieki was elated when she received KSh 32,000 in her M-Pesa account.

However, her joy was short-lived when she received a call informing her that the money had been sent to her number by mistake.

The sender requested her to forward the amount to the rightful owner, and she did so without keeping a single shilling despite being in a financial fix herself.
