Karangu Muraya Mourns Gatundu Woman, Child Found in River: "Poleni Sana"

Gatundu is in shock as the family of Virginia Njeri Matu and her little son, Adrian Mejja, verified the sad news that they had been found dead in River Thiririka.

Their disappearance earlier this week caused loved ones a lot of pain, which ended with a heartbreaking confirmation and a message of support from public figure Karangu Muraya to the grieving family.

The 24-year-old and her son were reported missing on Tuesday, August 12, when she was last seen in Githurai 44.

The family had sought help from the influencer Karangu, through whom their case got broader exposure.

Blogger Simon Mwangi Muthiora later alerted Karangu that the bodies of a woman and a child matching Virginia's description had been retrieved from a river.

Karangu has relayed the devastating confirmation that the two had passed on.

He wrote:

“The family has confirmed, may Virginia and Adrian rest in peace. To the family and friends, poleni sana.”

Muthiora shared the harrowing moment police were seen retrieving the body of the mum from the river.

The bodies were then transported to General Kago Hospital mortuary.

The video has broken hearts on social media, with some also sympathising with the police officers handling the bodies.

Siblings drown in Nyali

In other news, TUKO.co.ke reported that two sibling drowned while on vacation with their family in Nyali.

Their father had stepped out with three children, leaving the two in the care of their mother.

The authorities had also inspected the facility to see whether it complied with the safety regulations.
