Koech Manasseh was heartbroken after the discovery of the untimely death of his dear friend, Kibet.
Manasseh expressed his grief in an emotional post on his Facebook account following the shattering news.
He noted that they had plans, but unfortunately, they would not only fail to fulfill them but also never meet as intended.
Kibet's 'last' photo
"Kibet, I'm heartbroken that you're no longer here. We had a plan to meet this Thursday, a meeting that will now only exist in my memory 😭😭.
May God keep us safe from those who act as our friends while secretly planning to harm us. I wish we could have cancelled that deadly Kisumu journey," Manasseh painfully wrote.
He shared a picture of the deceased, who was dressed in a white t-shirt and blue jeans, posing next to a Toyota Land Cruiser.
Kibet was looking away from the camera, his hands folded, with one leg resting on the car.
What was the cause of death of Kibet?
Manasseh also shared a screenshot of their last WhatsApp messages, noting that they were to meet on Thursday, August 21.
"It's really hurting when you plan something with a person, then he goes without fulfilling it, leaving a heartbreaking mark in your heart 💔💔💔💔. I was supposed to go to Nairobi this Thursday to meet Kibet before he left for somewhere I didn’t ask about. It’s bitter to conclude that he meant heaven 😭😭😭.
Kibet passed away yesterday after complaining of stomachache just after arriving from Kisumu. The doctor said it was food poisoning 😭😭😭. I can’t imagine you are no more, Kibet. RIP," he added.
In their last chat, Kibet was replying to Manasseh’s WhatsApp status where he had shared a group photo with other men.
Where was Manasseh set to meet Kibet?
Kibet asked Manasseh if he was wrapping up his editing so that he could start his journey to Nairobi.
They were to have a shoot, and Kibet had already informed his entourage about his plans to visit the city.
"Yes sir. Let us plan," Manasseh replied, as Kibet shared he had some business to take care of in Kisumu at the moment.
Their conversation took place between 7:34 pm and 8:01 pm, as seen in the timestamp.
