Lucy Muthoni travelled to Iraq in search of greener pastures, but she disappeared without a trace.
The mother of two allegedly had differences with her employer before she vanished mysteriously.
Her distraught husband, Onesmus Musyoka, who has now taken on the roles of father and mother, recounted their conversations.
"After three months she told me she was not taken to Turkey but Iraq. She said there were no jobs in Turkey. I reached out to the agents who had helped her in getting the job, who confirmed the alleged work in Turkey was no more, so they took her to Iraq," Musyoka said.

When was the last time Musyoka talked to Muthoni?
Muthoni was hired as a hairdresser in a salon which was unfortunately shut down after eight months.
Her employer returned her to the recruiting agency in Iraq as there was no more work for Muthoni.
Three months later, Muthoni's ex-boss returned and offered her another job opportunity, this time as a househelp.
"They lied to her that the salon business was back. When I called her she told me there was no salon business but that she had been forced to take up the househelp job. When I asked her if there was a problem, she told me she did not want that job. She told me she was being threatened and that the people plotted to do something bad against her. On Tuesday, September 14, 2024, was the last time we communicated and her phone went off," the dad of two said.

Musyoka receives call from Iraqi officer
In the same month, Musyoka received a call from an Iraqi officer informing him that his wife had been arrested.
Muthoni had been arrested for allegedly stealing her employer's mobile handset and had been arraigned in court.
However, the court dismissed Muthoni's case as there was no sufficient evidence against her to warrant her being jailed.
The court had released her and given her two options. Either to return to her employer or return to Kenya. Since then, I never received any information from the officer. Whenever I text him on WhatsApp, the officer does not respond," Musyoka narrated.
Muthoni's family seeks govt intervention
Muthoni's recruiting agency communicated to her husband via a text claiming she had run away from her employer's home after she was released by the court and they were unable to trace her.
A depressed Musyoka pleaded with the government to step in and intervene on his wife's case, who has been missing for five months.
