Blessing says she was recently given KSh 700 by her dad to travel to Nairobi in the hope of finding her mother.

Blessing shared that the only lead she has is a phone number allegedly belonging to her mother, which was given to her by an aunt.

Unfortunately, she has no other contact or information to aid in her search, which makes it difficult to follow up.

Muthoni Kariuki, a Good Samaritan, found her roaming on the streets and took her to the Kiamumbi Police Station near Kahawa West to ensure her safety.

Why Blessing Gatwiri doesn't want her father

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Muthoni disclosed that the 14-year-old opened up about not wanting to return to her father's house.

"According to her, the father is a drunkard and often mistreats her. I don't know how true that is," she explained.

She called on members of the public who may know Purity Nkatha or her family to come forward and assist in reuniting them.

News of Blessing's daring act was received with mixed reactions as some condemned her father for letting her risk her life by travelling alone, while others pitied the young girl.
