What did Charles Ong’ondo Were’s family say?
Speaking at their family home in Karen, he said that their family was saddened by the demise of their father, who was a lovable man.
Boid urged the investigative agencies to expedite their investigations so the family and Keyans can find out what happened.

"As a family, we are saddened by the death of dad. He was an honourable man, everyone loved him, and all we can say is we urge the investigative agencies to fasten the investigations so that the Kenyans at large and the people of Kasipul can get to know what transpired," he painfully said.
Boid admitted that it was a difficult time for his family and asked Kenyans to pray for them.
"The death of dad, I know it is difficult, but as the governor has said, let us give the authorities time to do the investigations and make conclusions but as a family we urge all Kenyans to pray for us in this difficult time," he added.
Another family member speaking to the press praised the late MP, saying that their family had lost a pillar.
"Sir Charles has left us a big gap. He has been a pillar of the family, he has been an advisor to us, and we as a family have lost a great man. Let me take the opportunity to thank Kenyans and also advise them to pray for us during this difficult moment," he shared.
Politicians had converged at Were's family home to condole wth them after they learnt of their fellow legislator's assassination.

What happened to Charles Ong’ondo Were?
Eyewitnesses claim that unidentified gunmen travelling on a motorbike shot the politician.
He died near the City Mortuary roundabout in Nairobi around 7:30 pm on Wednesday, April 30.
Two attackers on a motorbike approached the congressman, according to witnesses; one of them got off and mortally wounded him with close-range shots.
Given his driver's escape unscathed, the attackers seemed to have primarily targeted the congressman.
In an effort to save his life, the politician was hurried to Nairobi Hospital, but upon arrival, he was declared dead.
Kenyans comfort Ong'ondo Were's son
A section of Kenyans sympathised with the deceased's family, consoling them.

Former prime minister Raila Odinga joined Kenyans in mourning the ODM MP moments just after he was gunned down.
Raila penned a touching message to Ong'ondo, who was one of ODM's most loyal members, condemning the brutal act.
“We have lost a gallant son of the soil! Hon. Charles Ong’ondo Were is no more; mercilessly and in cold blood, gunned down by an assassin in Nairobi this evening. Rest in peace, Hon. Sir Charles Ong’ondo Were!" Raila shared on social media.
Several other MPs also mourned their colleague, calling for speedy investigations into his murder.
Was Charles Ong’ondo Were’s life in danger?
In other news, the politician had previously expressed concerns that his life was in danger.
He had linked his concerns to disruptions in his constituency.
The late Kasipul MP had claimed that the disruptions were made by individuals who were not residents of his area.
