Lawi Kipchirchir sadly met his fate in Western Australia following a horrible car accident in March, leaving his family in agony.
Over a month later, the young man's body was finally transported to Kenya ahead of the burial preparations.
The bereaved showed up in large numbers as they consoled one another during the emotional moment.
"It's so sad. Instead of going to receive your loved one at the airport while happy, you go to mourn him. Sad Lawi died in Australia after he was involved in a road accident. May God comfort the family," Oyaro Factfiles' Facebook post read.
Tears freely flowed down the cheeks of the bereaved as they received the body of their family member.
Some family members were sorely heartbroken and could not control their emotions at the airport.

They refused to be comforted as they watched the lifeless body of their kin being transported to the hearse.
Others sat on the green grass as they painfully cried for Lawi, expressing their deep grief in tears.
A few mourners were captured desperately wiping their tears with lesos, as they covered their faces.
Lawi was carried in a wooden coffin, which was put in a hearse as his family watched.

Body of police officer who died in Haiti arrives
In another story, it was rather an emotional moment at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) as the body of a 26-year-old man who died in Haiti arrived.
The late officer Samuel Tompoi's body was received at the airport by Deputy Inspector General of Police Gilbert Masengeli.
Tompoi was confirmed dead on Sunday, February 23, during the MSS peacekeeping mission in Haiti.
