Norah sat in the back seat of their Toyota with the package—a brown box—on her lap, ready to unbox it.

Family counsellor Jane Murimi Mugo urged parents to be careful when handling tech gadgets to their kids.

"Technology has positives and negatives. I want to derive the model of Abel Mutua and his wife who before they gave their daughter her first smart gadget, they had a sit with her and also made it clear they would be monitoring her usage. There is a lot happening in the world now and kids can access almost anything at the tap of a screen.
A parent should know at what age they can trust their kids with smart gadgets, be it an iPad, tablet or smartphone or laptop. There should be measures and boundaries put in place," she tod TUKO.co.ke.
