The Sabatia Sub-county Police Commander said the matter had now been taken over by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCIO).

At the scene, detectives recovered the head and several body parts, but the torso — a crucial piece for forensic examination — was not among them.
Experts believe the body had been in the pit latrine for more than two days before a pupil made the shocking discovery.
Efforts to retrieve the remaining body parts are underway, with the police working closely with disaster response teams and forensic experts.
Investigators are also appealing to the public to report any information that may assist in identifying the victim or the perpetrators.
