US-Based Kenyan Family Turns to Prayer as Grandpa Remains Missing for Days
- Reuben Waithaka travelled to the USA to witness his great-grandchild graduate from Claire High School but the the happy times the family anticipated have turned into uncertainty
- Waithaka had been left under the care of his dear wife when he left the house looking confused and she decided to follow him but when she rushed to close the door, he had already disappeared
- At the moment, the authorities have unleashed helicopters, dogs and drones to look for the elderly man, who went missing
United States of America: The wife and other family members of Reuben Waithaka, who went missing five days ago, have turned to prayers as he is yet to be found.

How did Waithaka disappear?
In an interview with CBS 42, it emerged that Waithaka and his wife had travelled to the USA to witness their great-grandchild graduate from Claire High School.

Waithaka went missing in Timberline, Calera, Alabama. He left the house looking confused and his wife ran after him.
Midway, the 72-year-old's wife realised that she had left the door unlocked, and that is not how it is done in Kenya, so she rushed to close it.
"I closed the door but when I looked for him; he was nowhere to be seen. It was like he was walking very fast. I'm worried," she said.
"We are praying; we are a very prayerful family," said another member of the family.

How did a good Samaritan help Waithaka?
Waithaka was last seen wearing a plaid shirt and khaki pants; he is five feet tall. He was last seen walking in the area of Merion Drive, in the Timberline Subdivision.
According to reports, a good Samaritan helped Waithaka with a ride up to a Chevron gas station, and from there, the trail went cold.

Calera Police Chief David Hyche asked people who had offered the man a ride to step forward.
"Getting a ride is far better than him being alone in the woods on a day like today," he said.
The search efforts have gone a notch higher with helicopters, dogs and drones being used to find him.
"We had a lot of reports in the area that they had seen the person with the said description," said the police.
