When was Tamara last seen?

In an emotional Facebook post, Westkagu Jacque shared that the young girl woke up very early in the morning, eager to have a beautiful day but ended up being mistreated and sadly killed.

The young girl was last seen at the Open Air Market stage in Majengo, Nyeri Town, wearing a brown sweater and maroon trousers.

According to Jacque, the young girl was known by everybody in the market, where her mother was a trader and raised her there until she was of school-going age.

That is how she met Nicholas Julius Macharia, aka Beba Beba, who would help her mother ferry market goods from one area to the next; he practically saw her grow into a bubbly girl.

How did Macharia get Tamara?

On the day little Tamara went missing, she had earlier been spotted casually walking towards Majengo and since it was not the first time to be seen with Macharia, no one thought it was strange.

"On that Saturday, May 24, Tamara never went home and the now worried mother, together with friends, searched with the hope of finding her either lost or maybe had left with friends and lost track of time," shared Jacque.

When there was no trace of the seven-year-old, a report was made at the Nyeri police station that same night.

Why was Macharia questioned over Tamara?

On May 26, the people who had seen Tamara with Macharia learnt that she was missing and took a bold step to ask whether he was with the little girl and he totally refused.

Macharia, who by now was shaken by the turn of events, allegedly tried to intimidate the lady who said she had seen them walking together.

"She couldn't let what she knew without a doubt go unsaid," said the Majengo resident.

How did CCTV give answers on Tamara?

Unknown to Macharia, the route he had passed with the little girl had a business establishment with a CCTV camera and it showed Macharia with the little girl.

"Police immediately took action and Macharia had no option but to show the where abouts of Tamara!" said Jacque.

Macharia took the police and the residents to the scene where he allegedly assaulted and murdered Tamara before burying her and the reality hit them that she was no more.

"A jembe in that house and a shallow fresh grave were enough evidence of what had befell Tamra," she said.

Macharia was whisked away to the police station to avoid the wrath of the residents who had thronged the area.

"I can only imagine what went through your mind as he took you inside that small hell like building, the heinous acts he dealt you up to your demise!" said the incensed Nyeri resident.
"We refuse to have some dwellers of Majengo define Nyeri County," she added.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, WestKagu acknowledged that this was not the first time the man had been embroiled in such a scandal and this time the community was watching to ensure the girl got justice.

"They are watching to see he doesn't get a lenient verdict like the system had done in a similar case in 2023," she said.

Macharia asked Tamara's mum on her whereabouts

In another story, it emerged that Macharia pretended not to know where Tamara was and even asked her mother as she frantically searched for her daughter.

The girl’s disappearance into thin air sparked anxiety among residents and after they learnt that Macharia was responsible for her death they started baying for his blood.

Luckily, the police were present and saved his life but the online calls or justice still remain.
