What happened to Father Allois?
Allois, a beloved priest who loved ministering to people even in dangerous terrains, was shot dead just after having a jumuiya meeting with the Catholic faithful in Elgeyo Marakwet county.
When residents heard of his death, they erupted in wailing and even staged a protest to demand justice for his death.
Both the young, who were energetic enough to walk and sprint fast and the old, who could only wave their Bibles and walking sticks in protest, came to mourn him.

What was Sudi's message to the family?
Days after the brutal murder, Sudi went to the home of the slain priests, where he consoled his family following the death.
"I joined Emgwen MP Josses Lelmengit at Cheplasgei, Kilibwoni Ward in Nandi county, to condole with the family of Catholic Priest Allois Cheruiyot Bett, who was slain by criminals," said Sudi.
"Father was a steadfast peace advocate and devoted spiritual leader. Those behind the priest's killings will surely be found and face the full wrath of the law," he added.

Nuns, priests inconsolable after Allois's death
Another story revealed that priests and nuns were inconsolable after they learnt that Father Allois was dead.
The former colleagues of the departed priest arrived at the scene and bitterly grieved the man of God who was killed while on his way to conduct a service.
At the scene of the crime, several men and women of God were seen embracing each other after viewing the body.
