Grace, who goes by the name Mamake Christine on social media, told TUKO.co.ke that she regrets ever searching for the woman who abandoned her 12 years ago.
“I feel so bad. I don’t even know why I decided to look for her,” she said.

The heartbroken woman had launched an online search to find Firista Nasila, hoping for a joyful reunion after so many years apart.

She explained that she had always longed for a mother’s love, especially as she grew older, wanting someone to share her struggles and joys with.
Being an only girl, Grace said her relationship with her father was strained, and she often avoided going home to visit him.
Grace also shared that Nasila left following a domestic dispute and never returned.
How did Grace find her mum?
After TUKO.co.ke published her story and appeal to find Nasila, she shared that some of her mother’s relatives reached out to her and her brothers.
“They came looking for us and told us where she was. She had remarried and had other children. I was so happy, we were finally going to have a relationship with her,” she said.
However, Grace was left heartbroken when the woman she had spent years searching for rejected her.
“On Sunday, her sister went to the place where she lives now. She said she has no business with me and my brothers, and that she only cares about her husband and her two boys. That really hurt me,” Grace revealed.
The devastated woman added that they are now completely on their own, as their father also remarried and has children from his new relationship.
“My three brothers and I now have no mum or dad, even though they’re both alive. They don’t care about us anymore,” she said.

The emotional story sparked an outpouring of sympathy online, with netizens warning against reconnecting with absentee parents and urging Grace to focus on building her life.

Uasin Gishu family reunites with mum who vanished in 2004
Previously, TUKO.co.ke reported that a family in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu county, was overjoyed after their long-lost mother returned home.
Her daughter, Sharon Jemurgor, said she left in 2004, leaving her and her siblings under the care of their father.
Sharon launched a search for her mother on Facebook a few years ago and eventually received a positive response from one of her followers, who helped her reconnect with her mother.
