Rosanna Kathure believes she could have been in a far worse state or even dead and buried had it not been the protection of her Maker.
She painfully recalled how she lost an eye after her husband brutally attacked her one night while she was asleep with their children.
Kathure gives sharp object to hubby
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Kathure claimed her husband had been threatening to harm her for some time, but she never imagined he would do it that night.
“I thought it was just like the other times when he said he would attack and injure me. I had found him in bed with a high school girl. I didn’t confront him angrily, but I did demand answers. Since the birth of our second child, he had drastically changed. He was drinking illicit brew, chewing khat, and smoking.
That night, he asked for a panga and a jerrycan to refill paraffin, saying he was stepping out. He told me not to lock the door, claiming he didn’t want to wake the kids when he returned late. As he left, he was sharpening the panga—and little did I know, that would be the night I’d narrowly escape death.”

Kathure said her husband did not go far; he lingered around the compound without her knowledge.
She put the children to sleep around 11pm, though they hadn't eaten because there was no food in the house.

“Once I went to bed, my husband slowly opened the door and came in. When I saw someone, I lifted my hand to block the torchlight from my eyes and asked who it was and why he hadn’t knocked. He simply identified himself and asked why I was asking stupid questions. Then he told me he had warned me before—that he would take my life.
I was still shielding my eyes when I suggested we pray. He then struck my hand with the panga. My hand went numb, so I screamed for help. That’s when he struck me on the face. He aimed for my mouth because I was screaming, but instead, he hit my eye.”

Kathure said her husband then struck her on the head, trying to hit her other eye or neck.
