Thika Road: CCTV footage has shown the moment a woman tried to protect her dignity, but she was heavily slapped by a customer who had visited the restaurant where she works.

What happened to Prudence Olive?

The CCTV footage shows a busy restaurant with patrons going in and out of the large dining area, and just opposite is the counter with waitresses. All was well until a customer got into an altercation with a server.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Prudence Olive (Ruth Gathiru Mwangi) said: "A customer came...I wasn't even selling him anything. As I was clearing the table, he started touching me inappropriately on my behind and I don't like that so I pushed him," she said.

"He later came and started hitting me and the management said the customer is always right. They said I always have a temper; that was their excuse. Im a a waitress who seels food and drinks and I didn't go there to be touched inappropriately," she added.

How did Olive lose her job?

After the incident, Olive left for home just as with any other day, but when the hardworking lady arrived home, she allegedly got a call from the management, who fired her over the phone.

"There is another case where another person quit after she made a similar protest; a customer touched her chest area and when she protested, management said that she was not respectful to customers," claimed olive.
