He had dreadlocked hair, which did not impress his mother, prompting her to scold him, as seen in the video.
"This one came back home with braided hair, hoping to receive a prodigal son reception — but an African mum is an African mum. In her house, women will be women and men will be men. Play on," the Facebook caption read.

Kenyan mum asks son rhetorical questions over his hair
The young man remained seated on the comfy sofa while his mother stood beside him, examining his hair.
She questioned him on why he had chosen a hairstyle that made her feel upset and disgusted.
"You decided to braid your hair and you're a man? Or do you admire being a woman? What influenced you to keep your hair like this? Do you see those young men who abuse substances? They are the ones who keep such hair. Or are you also using bhang these days?" she angrily asked.
Young man warns Kenyan mum about his hair
She attempted to remove the hairband holding his locks together, but the young man became defensive.
He told his mother not to touch his hair or remove the band, but she was adamant and challenged him.
"Do you want to fight me? Your mother? What is this? You’ve started using hairbands like a lady? Do you desire to be a woman? Do you desire to use bhang? If this is the style you've chosen, then let me go and shave my hair so that you can be the woman of the house," she said.
Family counsellor Jane Murimi Mugo told TUKO.co.ke hairstyles did not mean much in the modern era.
"My son has dreadlocks as well and he put them recently. They do not change his mannerism, his character except his looks. I do not associate him with a substance abuser. I believe there are better ways to resolve such matters. As parents, let us not jump into conclusions but have a sit down with our kids first to understand their reasoning," she said.
