Alex Kamau took to social media to share the highs and lows of a young father trying to make ends meet for his family.

How old is Alex Kamau?

The 26-year-old construction worker shared an emotional TikTok video capturing his daily experiences.

“List of clothes I wore for the whole last week,” read the caption on the viral video that moved many.

On Monday, the young man wore his work apron as he headed to work, carrying a large stone on his shoulder.

He looked comfortable, clearly used to the demanding labour, and placed the stone among several others seen in the video.

Where did Kamau go on Wednesday?

On Tuesday, the devoted father showed scars on his shoulders from the previous day’s heavy lifting.

Despite the pain, he said it didn’t stop him from waking up and going to work again, to feed his family.

On Wednesday, Kamau showed up for work with a smile, wearing a light T-shirt.

Although his hair was unkempt, he smiled confidently, showing his neatly arranged teeth as he documented his daily hustle.

What did Kamau do on Thursday?

On Thursday, he wore a white T-shirt, blue jeans, and a baseball cap.

There was no mjengo work that day, but he didn’t sit at home feeling sorry for himself.

Instead, he visited a hardware shop, hoping to get a job, even carrying cement bags.

“My daughter must eat,” he said with determination.

How much was Kamau paid on Friday?

On Friday, Kamau ran an errand for a friend, taking a motorcycle to a mechanic for servicing.

He was paid KSh 200 and paused to take a portrait photo next to the stylish bike.

“I know I am handsome, especially when I wear this jacket and cap,” he said, enjoying the moment.

Saturday was an emotionally difficult one as Kamau revealed in his TikTok video.

“In the morning, I cried in my jacket and cap. I tried to pray, but I cried even more,” he shared.

Kamau spends time with his three-year-old daughter

That night, he got some work and completed it joyfully, posing for another lovely photo.

On Sunday morning, he went to work at a construction site, and later that afternoon, he spent quality time with his daughter on an outing.

“Everything I post is real—nothing is fake, and I don’t try to impress. Sometimes I feel so low, but whenever I post a video, I get lovely and uplifting messages from netizens, which keep me going. If it weren’t for TikTok, I don’t know where I would be or how my life would have turned out,” he told TUKO.co.ke.
