Wamaitha said her son’s phone was off that day, which made her panic, as it was unusual for his phone to be unreachable.
She then called him via WhatsApp and, fortunately, managed to reach him. She asked why his phone had been off.
"He told me he had switched off the phone for about 35 minutes and asked me to speak to him via WhatsApp," she said.
However, that was the last time they spoke. When she tried to reach him again at around 1 pm, his phone had been switched off, prompting further concern.
Wamaitha said she was praying that the DCI would return her son to her.
What happened during the alleged abduction?
His sister, Njeri Kinyagia, narrated the events of the day, stating that the caretaker initially barred the police from accessing the compound for hours before they eventually gained entry.
She noted that the incident was reported to Kinoo Police Station and urged those holding him to follow the law if he had committed any crime.

"We are law-abiding citizens, and that is why we followed due process. If anyone has been aggrieved by whatever he said or posted, they should also follow due process," stated Njeri.
The family’s lawyer also claimed that someone was using intimidation to silence bloggers, adding that such tactics are often employed when the law is not on one’s side.

What did Ndiangui Kinyagia do?
The officers are said to have taken two of his laptops, two phones, and two passports after camping at his apartment for more than nine hours.
According to witnesses, the officers arrived at Kinyagia’s residence in more than 10 Subaru vehicles after he had posted a programme for the 25 June protests on his X platform.
The blogger had claimed the programme was intended to guide demonstrators to the State House, where they would lower the presidential standard flag.
However, he had reportedly left the building a few hours before the police arrived and has not been seen since.
