Nandi Student Suffers Stroke 2 Weeks after Arriving in Australia, Dies Following Cardiac Arrest

A family from Chebarus village, Ndalat ward, Mosop constituency, in Nandi county has been thrown into mourning following the untimely demise of their kin.

Madeline Jeruto had travelled to South Australia for further studies, where she sadly met her fate.
The Kenyan Association of South Australia (KASA) joined the community in mourning Jeruto’s passing.
The organisation shared the heartbreaking news on its Facebook page, honouring the young lady:
When did Madeline Jeruto travel to Australia?
“Jeruto arrived in Australia in September 2023, full of dreams and determination to build a bright future. Tragically, just two weeks after arriving, she suffered a mild stroke and faced ongoing health challenges from then on.
"Despite the efforts of medical professionals and the unwavering support of those around her, Madeline passed away last night (Thursday, 26 June) following a sudden cardiac arrest at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.”
They also shared a lovely photo of Jeruto as they grieved the 27-year-old whose life was abruptly cut short.
She was wearing a stunning black dress with a long cut from the bottom to slightly above her thigh as she posed for a photo.

“Her passing is a devastating loss to her family, friends, and the broader Kenyan and African diaspora communities in Australia. Madeline was admired for her humility, discipline, and resilience—qualities that touched many hearts.
As we grieve this heartbreaking loss, we also come together to honour her memory by helping her family return her body to Kenya for a dignified farewell. The total repatriation cost is estimated at KSh 5.8 million, covering funeral expenses, flights, and necessary arrangements,” the post continued.
Several netizens shared the information far and wide as they appealed to well-wishers to help the family repatriate the young lady’s body.

Kenyan student drowns in Germany
In another heartbreaking story, a Kenyan student drowned while swimming in Germany.
The family of the student, Victor Ondimu Rangi, pleaded for help to repatriate his body for burial.
They have since set up a GoFundMe account to raise funds to transport their kin’s body home.
