Caretaker in Court for Allegedly Stealing 14 Cows, Money From High Court Judge

A 43-year-old caretaker has been dragged to court for allegedly stealing livestock, building materials, and other goods worth over KSh 655,000 from a judge he was employed to serve.

The accused, Given Chinkonkota, is alleged to have committed the thefts between September 1, 2024, and May 22, 2025.

How Given Chinkonkota stole from judge

Mwebantu reports that Given was working as a caretaker for Judge Edward Musona, the judge-in-charge of the High Court’s Industrial Relations Division.

He now faces two charges, theft and theft by servant, after he allegedly stole 14 cows valued at KSh 535,000 in the first count.

Prosecutors say he was entrusted with the responsibility of looking after the livestock, but instead misappropriated them.

In the second count, he is accused of stealing additional property from the judge’s premises, including 2,000 building blocks, two solar panels, two rolls of poly pipes, and eight chickens, all valued at KSh 122,800.

Man charged with stealing KSh 356m

Meanwhile, the director of OKI General Trading Limited was charged with stealing over KSh 356 million from the company between 2020 and 2024.

Court documents seen by TUKO.co.ke indicate that the alleged theft occurred in Baba Dogo, Nairobi, where the director reportedly exploited his position to misappropriate company funds.

Honey Khatwani, through his lawyer Kennedy Echesa, pleaded for lenient bail terms, adding that he was not a flight risk.

The court is set to rule on the bail application, with the prosecution urging for strict conditions due to the large sums involved.
