Nairobi: Daughter Allegedly Attacks Dad with Chapati Rolling Pin for Arguing with Her Mum

A woman from the Clay City area in Kasarani, Nairobi county, has been accused of physically assaulting her 52-year-old father.

Why did Kasarani woman attack her father?
According to reports, Esther’s father was alone in the bedroom reading, while his wife and two children were in the living room.

At around 10pm, his wife joined him in the bedroom, and the two began to argue after he confronted her for secretly visiting one of their daughters without his knowledge.

He also allegedly warned her against making early morning phone calls to strangers, which further fuelled the dispute.
Esther, who had reportedly been eavesdropping, stormed into the bedroom carrying a rolling pin, allegedly in defence of her mother.
She is said to have threatened her father, warning him to stop troubling her mother. When he retaliated by questioning her over the threats, she allegedly struck him.
Did Esther Wangare assault her father?
According to court documents, Wangare allegedly struck her father repeatedly on the head and arms with the chapati roller.
Her mother is also said to have joined the altercation by grabbing her husband around the waist.
While struggling to free himself, the man allegedly pulled his wife’s hair, which enraged both women, prompting them to scream and hurl insults.
The fight continued until their son, who had been in the sitting room throughout the incident, intervened.
It is also reported that Esther vandalised her father’s car by throwing stones at it, smashing both the front and rear windscreens.

The angry and distraught man reported the matter to the police, leading to a court case.
Wangare appeared before the Makadara Law Courts on charges of assaulting her father on the night of June 19.
She denied the charges and was released on a cash bail of KSh 30,000, pending mention of the case in July for pre-trial.
