How did Pastor Mackenzie start his church?

In another story, TUKO.co.ke looked into the making of a cult and established that Mackenzie started the church with his wife, Joyce Mwikamba in 2003.

The church started as a small evangelical centre and unconfirmed reports stated that in 2016, one of MacKenzie's followers sold his property in Lamu at KSh 20 million and gave all the money to him.

Apparently, the preacher used the cash to buy properties in Mombasa and Malindi, two vehicles, and also started a TV station. The latter helped him reach a wider audience.
