What shocked the public most was the claim made by one of the alleged widows, who appeared with a nine-month-old baby and insisted the deceased MP was the father.

Paternity questions after Ssegirinya's death

New Vision reports that questions quickly arose about the plausibility of the claims by the woman identified as Nnaalongo Joyce Nalule from Bbebi.

At the time the child would have been conceived, Ssegirinya had already been bedridden for nearly two years due to prolonged illness.

He was reportedly too weak to engage in even the most basic of activities, let alone sleeping with a woman.

Eyewitnesses and close associates were baffled by the timeline, questioning how the late MP, who was under constant medical care and lacked the strength to hold lengthy conversations, could have fathered a child under such circumstances.

“This left us in utter disbelief,” said Alex Lusswa Luwemba, Ssegirinya’s longtime personal assistant. “Unless it was some sort of miracle or forceful act, the story simply doesn’t add up.

Luwemba wondered how his boss could have fathered a child in his state, yet he could barely speak or lift his arm.

The drama adds to the growing controversy surrounding Ssegirinya’s succession, after DNA results confirmed that only four of the 18 children presented are his.

Legal efforts are currently underway, led by family lawyer Medard Lubega Ssegona, to obtain letters of administration for the verified children, given that the late MP died without leaving a will.
