Blogger Ndiang'ui Kinyagia has appeared before the Milimani Law Courts after coming out of his alleged hideout.

The young man refuted reports that he had been abducted, acknowledging his disappearance had caused worry and fear among Kenyans.

He clarified that he had been in hiding all along as Kenyans demanded his release.

His family appeared emotional as they accompanied him to court on Thursday, July 3, following his unexpected reappearance.

Among the family members present was his mother, who stood and sat by him throughout the court session.

Before the proceedings began, she gave her son a warm and tight hug, assuring him that everything would be okay.

He hugged her back, reciprocating the same love, support, and energy.

Did Kinyagia's mum go to Milimani Law Court?

He needed no more words of affirmation from her — her kind and thoughtful gesture clearly showed she would stand by him through everything.

As the proceedings continued, Kinyagia’s mother, seated to his left, held him close, giving him constant assurance.

She wrapped her arm around his shoulder and gently pulled him closer, offering the warm embrace of a loving mother.

Kinyagia remained calm, eyes cast downward, visibly comforted by her presence.

His mother appeared emotional and deep in prayer, seeking divine intervention from her Maker to come through for her son and the entire family.

One notable change in Kinyagia’s appearance was his hairstyle — he no longer sported his iconic Afro but had shaved and looked neat.

He wore a maroon hoodie over a checked shirt as he listened to the court proceedings.

Though he looked visibly traumatised during the session, his mother’s presence helped ease some of the tension.

Jane Murimi Mugo, a family therapist urged parents through TUKO.co.ke to show continuous support to their children especially in times of adversity.

"I think from the video it was evident their bond was unique and had been built over time. This is the kind of bond the younger generation craves for but may not say because parents are busy looking for school fees, money for rent and such like. However, they should take a step back and make time for their children.
There are times our children may be on the wrong like even just make a little mistake, it does not have to be public. Parents should always be there to protect them and stand by them," she said.

Kenyans react to Kinyagia's resurfacing

His sudden reappearance after days in hiding drew mixed reactions from social media users who freely expressed their views:

“He never said DCI was holding him. He went missing without any notice once he realized those abductors were coming for him. He had no means of communication — that’s why even his family was worried. And truly, they came for him but didn’t find him.”
