Albert Ojwang: Homa Bay Residents Prepare for Slain Son's Grand Entrance Ahead of Burial
- Albert Ojwang's body arrived at his town of Homa Bay, and the residents had prepared to welcome him home
- There were school buses and a huge truck with speakers playing music and announcing that Ojwang was on his way back home

Ojwang was killed at the Central Police Station, where he was taken by the police after his arrest at his home in Homa Bay.
While the police had first suggested that the young man killed himself by banging his head on the wall, that was soon rubbished by a post-mortem that revealed that he was beaten to death inside the facility.

How did Homa Bay residents prepare for Albert Ojwang?
From early in the morning, residents had started preparing for the arrival of their son, a dedicated teacher who was sadly killed after the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Eliud Lagat complained about a post, and he was taken into custody.
A huge truck was fitted with speakers that would announce the grand reception of Ojwang into the town and play music for the mourners.
The track was also adorned with huge banners bearing the image of the departed blogger, who was clearly loved and whose burial service was going to be a huge town affair.
How did residents receive Albert Ojwang's body?
When the body of the father of one arrived in the town, people started wailing at the unfairness of it all.
Women were seen carrying babies and following the motorcades, a clear indication that they had suspended everything for the day to mourn him.

Mawego National Polytechnic students wanted their own time with the blogger's body, whose death touched many people in the country.
The students, who came out in numbers, demanded that the body of Ojwang be taken to Mawego Polytechnic first for viewing. They struggled to view the body

Mawego Police Station set on fire
In another story, Homa Bay residents took to the streets to demand justice after their son's body landed in the town.
The irate crowd stormed the Mawego Police Station where Ojwang was detained first before being transported all the way to the Nairobi Central Police Station.
The young ones set the station on fire as they demanded justice for the death of the blogger and teacher.
They afterwards marched the streets of Homa Bay as they carried the coffin of the deceased back to his home in Kasipul Kabondo.
