As he mourned the breakdown of his marriage, he was also left to raise three young daughters alone, including Sylvia Chepkemoi, with a disability.

How can Shadrack be helped?
The family was so financially strained that they couldn’t afford a mortuary. On a rainy Saturday afternoon, Sylvia was laid to rest in a simple wooden casket that had been covered by worn-out polythene sheets. The grieving father tried his best to hold it all together for the sake of the other two daughters.
All around them, clear signs of poverty abounded, and it seemed that although villagers tried to help, they could not do much.
When Kenyans learnt that the man had gone through and the type of funeral they had, they decided to help.
On July 6, he said that he needed to provide milk for his daughters and a motorbike to earn a reliable daily income.
"We are at KSh 155,000 at the moment. Thank you, good people, lets close the day with KSh 200,000," said Alfred Koech On July 7.

Man builds own coffin
In another story, an entrepreneur from Tanzania shocked many people with his decision to build a coffin and ease the financial burden his family was likely to face when he died.
According to the coffin seller, the one he had chosen was from the latest catalogues, and he really liked it.
His wife, on the other hand, was not very excited about the move, and thought that he was very excited about death, which would leave her to take care of their kids.
